Business Institute

The scientific, research, and professional work at the school is formalised within the Business Institute in the context of the registered group of researchers and a narrower research group. The Business Institute was established so as to bring together theory and practice, as modern higher education studies require a close connection to practice and have to be supported by research work.

Journal of Innovative Business and Management

DOBA Business School has been publishing the e-Journal of Innovative Business and Management since 2010. The journal presents original ideas, experience, and findings of national and international experts, theorists and practising experts while also offering diverse views on the challenges of the modern society. The editor-in-chief is dr Rasto Ovin, the school’s dean.

Conferences, symposia and round table debates

Every year, we organise topical scientific or professional conference, symposia and round table debates for our students and the broader public, hosting prominent experts and scientists from Slovenia and abroad.

International and national projects

We monitor national and European tenders and apply for grants for co-financing.

EnDigiCom is a cofunded ERASMUS+ KA 2 Vocational Training Strategic Partnership which focuses on the improvement of digital skills within companies, mostly SMEs. The project coordinator is Europa-Wirtschaftsschulen, Austria, project partners  are DOBA Business School, Slovenia, Institut de Gestion Sociale (IGS), France, Businet, Belgium, EBC Euro-Business-College, Germany.

Project Training for Education, Learning and Leadership towards a new MEtropolitan discipline - TELLme is an Erasmus + Strategic partnership project. The project coordinator is Politecnico di Milano, Italy, project partners are DOBA Business School, Slovenia, Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, Italy, Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, Argentina, Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, Mexico, Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy, Economia e Sostenibilita, CIPPEC, Argentina.

Development, testing and validation of an autonomous intelligent and adaptive e-learning system for the improvement of information literacy of adolescents. Project coordinator: Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics University of Maribor. Project partners : DOBA Business School; Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor;  Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana; Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana.

Including students in scientific and research work

Undergraduate and postgraduate students are included in scientific and research work in the context of studies prepared by academics and in the context of research topics offered by the school. Under the supervision of academics, students join the work of the research group of also with their master’s theses.

Cooperation with companies

To a large extent, the inclusion of students in the research and professional work at DOBA Business School encompasses projects for the economy or the students’ work environment. The students also prepare applicative and research projects in companies in which they are employed and in other organisations.
