2020: The Future of Global Business and Marketing: How will smart companies deal with challenges and opportunities?
The main purpose of the conference was to disseminate research results, exchange experiences and identify key issues, challenges and obstacles in the thematic areas of the conference. It aims to bring together business people, entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists to exchange and share their experiences and research results regarding the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Marketing, Economics and Business Management and their challenges and opportunities in the Marketplace.
2019: Advancing Education: People, Institutions, Technology, international conference
Celebrating the twentieth anniversary of online learning at DOBA, we organised an international conference where renowned international experts presented an in-depth view of e-learning and deliberated on its importance and opportunities for innovation and the opening up of education at the threshold of the fourth industrial revolution. The conference provided an excellent networking opportunity for all who have already made important breakthroughs in e-learning as well as for those who were facing the first steps and searching for guidelines provided by experts with practical experience.
2018: Turn Innovative Ideas into Reality, international conference
DOBA Business School Maribor, in cooperation with FH Joanneum, Institute of Banking and Insurance Industry from Graz, Austria and the Faculty of Management of the University of Primorska, organised the 8th international scientific conference, Turn Innovative Ideas into Reality, which was held in Maribor on 12 and 13 November 2018.
2017: Smart Cities – Cities of Today and of Tomorrow, international conference. We invited global experts to share the latest trends, challenges, and solutions for the development of smart cities and communities. 74 participants from the corporate world, municipalities, higher education institutions, and media houses used practical solutions and examples to reveal WHAT needs to be changed, HOW to create policies, and HOW to implement change. The conference was opened by Violeta Bulc, long-time higher education teacher and European Commissioner.
2013: The Future of Work and Learning, 11 April. The international symposium, which was organised in cooperation with the Knowledge Economy Network from Brussels, was aimed at promoting continuous dialogue between academics and practising experts from the economic and non-economic sector in order to shape guidelines for future development of competencies, educational content, and modes of implementing higher education programmes offered by business schools.
2012: Dynamic Entrepreneurship for the Economy Growth – Promoting Sustainable Growth for the Prosperity and New Jobs, 7 May. The aim of the conference was to facilitate dialogue between the economy and higher education for a comprehensive approach to shaping programmes and content that will help entrepreneurs managing dynamic and fast growing companies ensure long-term sustainable growth and the transition from a small to a professionally managed growing company while at the same time considering sustainable development factors.
2011: Being Competitive in the Global Market – Internationalising Companies with Lifelong Learning, 9 June. The aim of the conference was to react to the challenges of the environment and to facilitate the development and inclusion in lifelong learning programmes from the field of internationalisation of operations. The conference showed some of the opportunities for lifelong learning for the successful internationalisation of Slovenian companies with the aim of continued investments in knowledge, training and learning to operate internationally, not only in business but also in other fields such as communication, languages, and familiarity with different cultures, habits and customs.
2010: The Role of Higher Education in Shaping a Collaborative and Creative Society, 10 June. The aim of the conference was to contribute to a greater awareness of the importance of the role of higher education in the development of a collaborative and creative society and its role in the transformation of the society to achieve sustainable development and long-term knowledge- and wisdom-based international competitiveness.
2009: Facilitating Creativity and Innovation in Higher Education, 19 June. The aim of the conference was to disseminate information on good practices in higher education and at other educational levels, to raise the awareness of the public, to facilitate discussion on innovation and creativity as the key competences that have to be developed at all levels of education.
