The scientific, research, and professional work at the school is formalised within the Business Institute with the registered group of researchers and a narrower research group. The Business Institute, which was entered in the records of research organisations on 3 March 2005 and is an independent unit of DOBA Business School, was established so as to bring together theory and practice, as modern higher education requires a close connection to practice and has to be supported by research work.
For eleven years, DOBA Business School has been publishing the e-Journal of Innovative Business and Management. The journal presents original ideas, experience, and findings of national and international experts, theorists, and practising experts while also offering diverse views on the challenges of the modern society. The editor-in-chief is Full Professor Dr Rasto Ovin.
Every year, DOBA Business School organises topical scientific and professional conferences for its students and the broader public, which host prominent experts and scientists from Slovenia and abroad.
DOBA Business School follows national and European tenders and applies for grants for co-funding international connections and in-depth development and applicative research work in the sphere of the school’s activities and in relation to the objectives of national development programmes and the Europe 2020 programme. List of projects
DOBA Business School includes undergraduate and postgraduate students in scientific and research work in the context of studies prepared by academics and in the context of research topics offered by the school. Under the supervision of academics, students are also included in the work of the research group with their master’s theses.
Cooperation with companies
To a large extent, the inclusion of students in the research and professional work at DOBA Business School encompasses projects for the economy or the students’ work environment. As the majority of our students are employed, we encourage their project assignments, seminar papers, and final papers to be prepared as applicable projects for organisations where they are employed. This allows students to transfer the knowledge that they obtained during their studies into practice.
Participation in tenders
The students also prepare applicative assignments and research projects in companies in which they are employed and in other organisations. DOBA Business School encourages students to prepare such assignments and projects. The best student projects are presented at events organised at DOBA Business School and beyond. Many of them receive awards and recognitions.
