The 12th International Scientific Conference of the DOBA Faculty, recognized as one of the most significant events of the year, brought together over 150 participants from esteemed domestic and international universities, research institutions, and leading companies. Over two intensive days, as many as 60 expert contributions, the results of research by internationally recognized professionals, were presented.
The conference speakers addressed five key themes reflecting the importance of psychological knowledge in the business world: positive psychology in business, education, and social spheres; coaching psychology in business; leadership and development of leadership skills; financial psychology, behavioral economics, and consumer behavior; as well as fostering innovation and creativity in organizations. These thematic areas tackled the most pressing challenges and opportunities of our time.
The first day of the conference was marked by lectures from international psychologists. Among the highlights were Professor Emeritus Dr. Devi Jankowicz from the University of Bedfordshire, Dr. Guek Nee Ke from Malaysia’s Heriot-Watt University, and Dr. Janek Musek, one of the most respected psychologists in the region and Professor Emeritus at the University of Ljubljana. The event also featured prominent experts in leadership, economics, and innovation, including Dr. Velimir Srića from the University of Zagreb, Violeta Bulc, Dr. h.c., former European Commissioner and founder of the Ecocivilisation movement, and Dr. Rasto Ovin, a renowned economist and long-time Dean of the DOBA Faculty.
The second day of the conference offered additional inspiration, featuring keynote speakers Dr. Bob Garvey, one of Europe’s most influential experts in coaching and mentoring, and Dr. David Clutterbuck, a pioneer of developmental coaching. The conference showcased 44 research contributions, opening new horizons and building bridges between theory and practice.
This groundbreaking conference emphasized the strategic importance of psychology and coaching in the business world, where it is increasingly recognized that motivated and satisfied employees are the key to success. Participants learned how the development of leadership competencies, fostering innovation, and strengthening team spirit can lead to higher productivity, lower turnover, and better long-term business results.
