Enhancing Professional Experience: Valerija Oblak on Erasmus Mobility in Spain

Valerija Oblak, Head of the Student Affairs Office at DOBA Faculty, participated in an Erasmus mobility program at the invitation of the Universitat de Vic in Spain. During her visit, she exchanged experiences with university staff and engaged in various activities related to international exchanges, student support, and career services.

Valerija Oblak visited the Spanish higher education institution from November 18 to November 22, 2024. She shared her impressions:

'During my Erasmus mobility at the University of Vic, I participated in various meetings covering international exchanges, alumni activities, career services, and student support. These experiences helped me broaden my understanding of social and cultural dynamics while enhancing my language skills in both Spanish and English. I exchanged best practices with university staff members, which I will apply in my role to improve administrative processes, particularly in the digitalization of student applications.

This experience, especially due to Spain’s cultural diversity, has significantly expanded my perspective on different cultures and strengthened my connections and understanding across Europe. I now feel more confident in international collaboration. Additionally, my contributions to improving internal processes and suggestions for enhancements in various areas have been acknowledged by my leadership.

The mobility program has also deepened my awareness of how to better serve students, from expanding opportunities for Erasmus exchanges to enhancing career services for alumni. These efforts will have a long-term impact, not only within our institution but also on a regional and European level. This exchange has encouraged me to develop innovative approaches and a more flexible way of working.'

One of the outcomes of this exchange is a joint Erasmus KA2 project application, and we look forward to long-term collaboration with the University of Vic.
