DOBA Offered to Share Its Knowledge and Experience in the Implementation of Online Learning

DOBA therefore offered to put its knowledge and experience, which it has gained over the last 21 years of implementing online learning, at the service of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency.

Online learning is a complex process and its sudden implementation is posing numerous challenges to educational institutions and implementers of the pedagogical process.

On the one hand, there are the challenges of setting up supporting information systems and integrating corresponding online tools for distance learning, while one the other hand, there are the challenges of how to correctly implement online learning, which is an even more important aspect for the students’ achieving of learning outcomes than the mentioned technical aspects. We have successfully developed and have been implementing the DOBA online learning model for 21 years, of those, 17 years at DOBA Business School. We implement the most complex model of e-learning, i.e. fully online learning.

Modern pedagogical approaches, modern knowledge assessment methods, and a comprehensive student support ensure a high activity of students and the achievement of learning outcomes and the development of competencies in line with the study programmes. In all the years of implementing online learning, we have obtained extensive experience and developed exceptional know-how in the implementation of online learning as a form of distance learning with an emphasis on the implementation of effective teaching practices and modes and methods of online teaching and learning.

The DOBA online learning model observes international quality standards of online learning. We are the only institution in Slovenia and Southeast Europe to have been awarded two international quality certifications for our model, i.e. UNIQUe EFQUEL and EOCCS EFMD.

The model is continually being upgraded and innovated in accordance with the latest findings in pedagogy and didactics and the development of modern technologies. Every year, approximately 1,500 students from 46 countries across the globe study at DOBA Business School and DOBA Higher Vocational College. Online teaching is implemented by 125 higher education teachers and lecturers and 135 online tutors.
