DOBA Business School is a member of Businet, which organises an annual Spring Workshop.
The virtual event took place from 17 to 26 April and was opened by Pieter van Boheemen with his lecture on The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence: From Algorithms to Human Impact. Pieter van Boheemen heads the AI & Ethics programme at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. His lecture was an exciting exploration of the ethical implications of the development and deployment of artificial intelligence. He offered solutions on how we can use tools such as ChatGPT in a way that ensures that artificial intelligence is aligned with human values and respects human rights. The speaker also showed that artificial intelligence is not just an additional tool, but redefines professional practices.
After the opening lecture, working group meetings continued for the rest of the month. DOBA Business School was represented by programme manager Nina Turčin, who is also the Group Chair of the Working Group on Internationalisation at Home, together with Sven Cerulus (UCLL Belgium). This time, the working group focused on the internationalisation of staff working in higher education institutions and on presenting the first findings of the VR4Skills project.
