Best teachers and online tutors in 2022/2023 as chosen by the students

This year, we are celebrating World Teachers’ Day with the announcement of the best teachers, lecturers and online tutors at DOBA Business School and DOBA Higher Vocational College.

The students chose the best teachers, lecturers and online tutors for the 2022/2023 academic year from among more than 210 teachers, lecturers and online tutors who, through their dedicated and excellent pedagogical work and the introduction of modern teaching methods and approaches, encourage students’ activity and thus improve the quality of their academic results.
 

The best teacher for the 2022/2023 academic year in undergraduate programmes is Mojca Lubanjšek Pehant
In the 2022/2023 academic year, Mojca Lubanjšek Pehant led undergraduate students through the course on Public Speaking and Rhetoric.

Receiving the title of the Best Teacher, she wrote: “I am proud and grateful. I see the title awarded by the students of DOBA Business School as a confirmation that passionate and dedicated work bears fruit. The message that I am doing good goes deep into my heart, as I have the utmost respect for people with a thirst for knowledge, and our students are undoubtedly such people. I see them as a critical public who are able to and dare to express their opinions. Praise, but also criticism. At the same time, I see this title as a responsibility to keep looking for new ways and approaches, to keep educating myself, and to ensure the high quality of my work and of my mission. Thank you all at DOBA Business School for making this possible.”

The best teacher for the 2022/2023 academic year in master’s programmes is Full Professor Dr Silvija Ručević
In the 2022/2023 academic year, dr. Silvija Ručević led master’s students through the course on Applied Psychometrics. Receiving the title of the Best Teacher, she wrote:

“Being selected as the best teacher in master’s programmes makes me proud and fills me with a sense of achievement. Being a good teacher means embodying the values of academic excellence and intellectual curiosity, fostering a love of learning in students, and inspiring them to reach their full potential. This title is a testament to all the effort I have put in so far, and it is indeed a great honour to be recognised for my work. I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to showcase my talent and share it with others. This award is not only a personal achievement, but also a source of motivation for me to continue to 'push myself' in the pursuit of excellence and to never settle for less than the best I can offer.”

The best teacher for the 2022/2023 academic year in the doctoral programme is Assistant Professor Dr Marko Divjak
In the 2022/2023 academic year, dr. Marko Divjak held two courses for doctoral students, i.e. the Dissertation Proposal Seminar course and the Dissertation Preparation Seminar course. Receiving the title of the Best Teacher, he wrote:

“I am very happy and proud to have been chosen by the students as the best teacher in the doctoral programme of DOBA Business School! Working with students at the doctoral level of education and guiding them through the process of selecting their doctoral topic, preparing their dissertation proposal and finally also their doctoral thesis is complex and poses a special professional challenge. In this respect, the recognition from the students means even more to me and shows that the students are satisfied with my pedagogical approach. Being named the best teacher by the students is an exceptional motivation for me but also an incentive for further efforts to improve the quality of the teaching process.”

The best teacher for the 2022/2023 academic year in higher vocational programmes is mag. Bojan Krajnc

In the 2022/2023 academic year, mag. Bojan Krajnc held two courses for students enrolled in higher vocational programmes, i.e. the Dissertation Proposal Seminar course and the Dissertation Preparation Seminar course. Receiving the title of the Best Teacher, he wrote:

“I accepted this recognition with great joy, but also with humility. It is a confirmation of my work methods and my communication with students, which is obviously appropriate for them. At the same time, it raises the question of how to further improve the teaching process and the learning experience in the future. It is particularly important to remember that it would not have been possible to provide an excellent learning experience without the infrastructure and the support of the whole DOBA team.”

The best online tutors for the 2022/2023 academic year as chosen by the students are:

• Boštjan Erjavec in Slovenia,
• Marija Novak in Croatia, and
• Marija Torbica in Serbia.
