Topic: Psychology, Sociology and Philosophy in Business Coaching
There is a strong emphasis in the world of business coaching on the influence of psychology. Psychology has influenced practice. However, two other subjects influence coaching – sociology and philosophy. These two are often disregarded and yet, sociology offers and insights into the context of the coaching and philosophy offers us an ethical dimension.
This presentation will consider how psychology has influenced practice, how the context of the coaching discussion can influence behaviour and performance and how ethics need to be at the heart of coaching activity. The presentation will offer both insight and challenge as well as some practical ideas.
